All about Becki...... I was brought up in an RAF family moving around every couple of years. I met my husband, Shaun, when I was 18 and living in Lincolnshire. We settled in Lincoln when we got married in 2006 and plan to bring up our (hopefully large) family here, although we could be tempted by the Amalfi Coast someday!
Children: Evelyn (Evie) born in March 2010
Location: Lincoln
Occupation: Mum, Screaming Green Real Nappy Agent & part time legal assistant
To keep ‘sane’: Walking the dog gives me a bit of "me" time every day (even if Evie is snuggled up in the sling- she usually sleeps!)
My top eco-family tip: Freecycle - a great way to declutter without filling up your rubbish bin.
Favourite simple activity to do with your baby: Reading (The Gruffalo is the favourite at the moment)
Favourite activity to do with your baby: Swimming - Evie loves the water.
Best baby buy: Our highchair - it's a lovely wooden one which sits right up to the table so Evie can eat at the table with us and it's adjustable so she can use it for years.
Worst baby buy: A swinging chair - Evie was a baby who needed holding all the time and my attempts to find somewhere I could put her down without her screaming led me to this huge plastic contraption which turned out to be a complete waste of money.
Real Nappy Experience: I switched to cloth when Evie was about 10 weeks old - I'd had enough of the poo explosions! I started off trying a few different brands and quickly became a bit of an addict - my favourite has to be my (Evie's ;-) ) Blueberries!
Potty Training Experience: None yet
Top tip for new parents: Go with the flow! I got too hung up on routines and not letting Evie feed to sleep at first - she soon made me realise that she was going to do things her way and I should just follow her lead! We've all been a lot happier since.
