Cheeky Wipes
Most of us know by now the horrendous amount of disposable nappies that go into landfill each day in the UK and how much this costs parents and tax payers but no-one seems to think about disposable baby wipes. Until we discovered Cheeky wipes, we found wipes seemed to just disappear in no time. Apart from dirty bottoms they get used for dirty hands, faces, your dirty hands, wiping down cafe tables, highchairs etc etc.
If you want to reduce your carbon footprint even further and save your wallet too then Cheeky Wipes are the answer. You’ll also know exactly what’s going on your baby’s bottom.
Cheeky wipes are easy to use and will save you money. The all-in-one cheeky wipes kit consists of 25 reusable cotton wipes, a large “mucky” container, a smaller “clean” container, a net bag, an out and about “mucky” bag and an out and about “clean” bag, and a “clean” and a “mucky” essential oil blend.
All you need to do is put a couple of centimetres of water into your “clean” container, add a couple of drops of the “clean” essential oil blend to make them smell nice, place your wipes into the container, flip them over to make sure they’re all nice and moist and hey presto you have wet wipes.
As with any product it is best to test the wipes on a small area first but if you prefer you can use the wipes without the oils, they’re only to make the wipes smell fresh.
Once your Cheeky Wipes are used put them in the net bag within the “mucky” container with again a couple of centimetres of water, this time with a couple of drops of the “mucky” essential oil blend and they’re ready to wash when you put on your next load.
For out and about simply remove the moistened wipe from the “clean” container and place in your “clean” out and about bag, remember to take along your “mucky” bag and away you go. Once you’re at home and you have used wipes in your “mucky” bag simply zip off the mesh bag that’s cleverly part of the “mucky” bag and either put straight into the wash or put into your “mucky” container.
It’s estimated that using Cheeky wipes for the first 2 years of your child’s life can save you approximately £200 !
Cheeky wipes mini kit is also available for existing reusable nappy users which does not contain a “mucky” container or out and about bag as you can simply use your nappy pail or waterproof nappy bag that you’ll already have.
You can also buy any of the items separately, so if you use up the essential oil blends you can buy refills or if you feel you need another set of containers or out and about bags you can also get these separately.
We have found that the kits make great presents for anyone who’s not sure about plunging into using real nappies. They’re an easy way to see if you can cope with a little extra washing.

What's the difference between bamboo and cotton terry towelling Cheeky Wipes?
Terry towelling is a great all-rounder and is more grippy for explosive poos. Bamboo is super soft perfect for hands and faces. Feel it dry and it’s really hard to avoid stroking it (like the top of a newborn baby’s head….) When it’s damp and ready for use, it retains much of that silky texture and still feels much softer than terry towelling.
Also, bamboo wipes are less likely to become ‘crusty’ through limescale so if you live in a hard water area this is something to consider – although a capful of white vinegar in your wash will solve this problem anyway.
